Dance is for EVERYONE!
I wanted to share the article (see link below) because I feel quite passionately about how inclusive dance is. How social it can be, how it instantly brings you joy, smiles, laughter which can be shared or indeed can be completely internal. A welcomed release that we should all find some time for, everyday (in this current climate more than ever), to let go, feel free and escape (even for 5 minutes) from any of the worries going on in our minds. I also really like the message about competing only with yourself and focussing on doing your best, rather than comparing yourself to others. Twyla puts it all in much better words than me, so enjoy the read and if throughout this module you feel a little overwhelmed, step a way from the computer, pop some music on and have a dance! https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2021/feb/08/twyla-tharp-some-of-the-greatest-dancers-are-amateurs?fbclid=IwAR15PQAJ7TuLx0eGkEc0HX1iJymN53DRN38LDoqqX5i_Zm2xsbfBUBN8mxc
